How to Upgrade Tools in Fields of Mistria

Tools upgrade sideways, not in a straight line — here's how it works.

Where to Forge Tools

Tools come in copper, iron and silver, each stronger than the last. You forge them at the anvil outside the blacksmith's shop on the northwest edge of town, using ore hauled up from the mines.

Skip the Ladder

You don't have to climb rung by rung. If you want the Silver Watering Can while still holding the starter tool, you only need the silver ingots and the Blacksmithing level for it — the intermediate tiers are optional.

Upgrade Priority

1. Watering can first — bigger watering coverage buys back real minutes each morning.
2. Copper pickaxe second — lets you smash the larger rocks blocking your path underground.
